5 Festival Hair Styles To Try This Season

Festivals are those amazing moments where we’re allowed to dress up like hippies in the park and not be judged. When else can you wander about wearing mermaid glitter, flower crowns and temporary metallic tattoos? (other than your regular Friday nights of course). One of my favourite things to look out for when it comes to Festival trends is hair, since as soon as Coachella hits, Pinterest and Instagram explodes with gorgeous girls wearing ankle boots and braids which of course we try desperately to replicate. If you’re struggling with some of the more difficult options, here are 5 quick and simple Festival do’s that you could totally pull off at your next party in the park. Enjoy lovelies !

Look 1: The Half Bun

From the floors of Urban Outfitters and the local organic coffee shops in Camden, the half bun has managed to seep its way through the super cool hipsters to us regular folks. Now everyone from the Kardashians to the Olsens is rocking the style and it’s so so easy we can too. It’s perfect for Festivals, out of your face but still maintains some long flowing locks to throw around like a real park hippy. Since no Festival is complete without flowers, try to find some Daisy chain hair bands, super easy to get hold of and just adds some pizazz to your hair.

Look 2: Cutting Shapes

Metallics are definitely in this year, after the ‘technology’ themed Met Gala where we saw A-listers like Zayn and Gigi and Kim and Kanye dressed up like Robots, everyone has been obsessed with the shiny, futuristic vibe. If you’re not quite brave enough to go full out astronaut to your next festival then why not incorporate the trend into your hair with these super cute shaped hair clips?

Look 3: Miley Cyrus Realness

So I already mentioned that the half bun is in, BUT did you know that if you’re super qwerky you can don two! Think Miley Cyrus and that ‘awkward, I’m definitely not Hannah Montana anymore’ performance with Robin Thick at the MTV awards (we all know the one) where she was dressed like a teddy bear. Now all us regular human beings have stolen her style and find it perfectly cool to stroll round too looking like a teddy. Top tip, Instagram research has shown me that the coolest of girls wear this new style with ‘glitter roots’ which is basically just throwing a whole lotta glitter in your parting (yup its as fabulous as it sounds).

Look 4: The Road woman Plaits

I love the way that the girls who wear these super cool plaits look like bad ass bitches who you wouldn’t mess with on a night out, but when I wear them I look like a little girl lost and looking for Hollister. BUT I don’t care since they’re just the best things ever, no need to worry about hair in your face and in terms of festivals, it’s just not right unless there’s plaits somewhere!

Look 5: Mermaid locks

This one’s my personal fave. Nothing says festivals like free, loose flowing hair with tonnes of bits and bobs just chilling in it. I’m talking throw in a little plait, throw in a braid, whip out the feathers, anything you can find just introduce to your hair and with this look they’ll be best friends. BTW quick shout out to the glitter eyes trend, perfect with this hair and it’s definitely giving off some serious mermaid vibes (like all the best things in life).
