How To Make An Edible Fondant Rose

What You Need:

Fondant
Edible glitter
Small paint brush
Scissors
Edible glue (not always necessary)
(All available at Hobycraft)

Step one:

Roll three small balls of fondant into even sizes and roll out one strip using your fingers or a little rolling pin into a thin strip

Step two:

Take the strip of fondant and roll it into a swirl carefully, being careful not to tear the icing. (The quicker you do this the less chance you have of it drying out and cracking)

 Step three:

Flatten the three balls of fondant using your fingers into three flat circles

Step four:

Take the flattened circles and carefully wrap them around the swirl you made, ensuring that you leave a gap open for the next petal

Step five:

Continue placing the petals around the swirl and when all three are in place squeeze together gently to keep in place, if the fondant has gone dry it may be worth using a few dabs of edible glue in-between petals to keep the rose together

Step six:

Gently peel back the petals until they look how you wish (rose-like would be fab!)

Step seven:

Dab a small (CLEAN) paintbrush into edible glitter and sprinkle lightly over the rose (feel free to skip this stage but it’s so pretty!)

Step eight:

Trim the excess  off the bottom and voila all done! Put on a cake and watch your hard work get eaten!
