Your Guide To Disneyland Paris On A Budget

Disneyland is obviously the best place like... ever but it's not fair to assume that you have to spend fortunes to have a magical time because let's face it, a mermaid's wage isn't what it used to be. So here is my guide to Disneyland Paris, with all the sparkles and fairy dust but less of the tumble weeds in your purse!

Best Instagram Spots:
Disneyland is a battlefield when it comes to Insta pics, the park is filled with basic bitches all trying to get the perfect shot, so if you know the best places before you get there it's gonna put you ahead of the pack.

Castle Wall:
Everyone wants a photo in front of the Disney castle because erm DUH it's like the most beautiful thing on this earth. However to get a picture without a tonne of like minded tourists and still include the prettiest bits of the castle you're gonna need to hoist your little booties on a wall and show everyone the Queen you are. The path leading up to the castle has some benches, if you climb these you'll find some pillars to sit on giving you the perfect magical picture, Instagram ready.
Cinderella's Fountain:
Someone told me that the Cinderella statue here is unique because adults see the Cindy as sad while children see her as happy, which was an eye opener for me since I thought she looked perfectly pleased! This little fountain is a hidden gem of the park and is a cute spot to get a less overrated pic.
Bucket List Moments:
In case this is the first travel post of mine you're reading, bucket list moments are the little things you do on each trip which you'll remember forever and will always have a special place in your heart even if they don't have a special spot on your Insta feed.

Watch The Firework Display:
It's a known thing with everyone I know that I do not cry, ESPECIALLY not in public. But I'm ashamed to admit that the Disney fireworks broke me, they broke me good. I'm talking blubbering like a baby while my friends whispered in shock "she does have emotions!". So make sure you put your phone away and just enjoy the magic.

Raid The Souvenir Shops:
The little Disney streets literally combine my favourite things in life, Disney and shopping. It's like a childhood dream come true and it's for sure something you need to do when you find yourself in Disneyland since everywhere you look you'll find glitter and fabulous edible goods.

 Wear The Damn Ears:
You're in Disneyland, swallow your pride and do it! (I took NO convincing)

What To Tighten Your Budget On:
Ok so when you're in Disney there's certain things you just cannot afford to scrimp on. For example, are you gonna be the only one taking pics by the castle WITHOUT Minnie Mouse ears?! NO! However there are a few things which you can save the pennies on and won't affect the magical moments of your trip.
Fish around for train tickets:
You may be up at 5am or have to change trains a few times but if you fish around for long enough there will always be a cheaper alternative to the first offer you find and who cares how you get there when the final destination is fricking DISNEYLAND!?
Stay nearby not on location:

Literally the best part of my life... ahem sorry, Disney trip, was watching the firework display, which if you do stay to watch, you won't be leaving the park until near enough midnight. After a long day of running around soaking in the sparkles you'll be exhausted so frankly it's a waste of money to spend hundreds of pounds to stay in the park itself. However there are a range of independent hotels less than a 15 minute drive away which are clean and modern and most importantly around £20 each for the night! Just pack yourself some Disney pyjamas and you'll be so high from the magic of the day it will not matter where you stay.

How To Add Sparkle To Your Daytime Makeup Routine

It's a known fact that basic bitches alike love abita shimmer, I mean would a night out be complete without sparkly eyeshadow? ERMMMM Nooooo! However who wrote the rule that glitz has to be saved for the night time? Here are 5 ways that you can incorporate some sparkly fabulousness into your day to day routine. Coz frankly I dare you not to feel a little better on a rainy day when you're shining bright like a diamond.

Bedazzling Base: By adding ahella illuminator to your base your foundation will look dewy and healthy all day long, so don't be shy to throw on as much shimmer as you dare under your makeup during the day.

SHOP: MAC- STROBE CREAM
Shimmer Shadow: A slight shimmer across your lids not only looks magical but is beneficial for making eyes appear larger, especially if you ensure to brush some into your tear ducts. Using pink and brown shades are ideal for the day rather than blacks and greys.

SHOP: URBAN DECAY- NAKED 3 PALATTE
Heaven Praise Highlight:There's very little I can say about highlight because frankly EVERYONE should know that it's just the best thing ever, definitely in my books anyway. It's for sure a daily essential, especially during summer and works wonders to sculpt your cheekbones and add mermaid vibes to your daily routine. If you're looking for an extra pop make sure to add liquid AND powder.

SHOP: THE BALM- MARYLOU-MANIZER
There's no word conotating glitter beginning with C Cheeks: This time of year is the perfect time to use a glittered blush because it gives the appearance of a post holiday glow, especially since every one, even those with fair skin gets rosy cheeks after chilling in the sun all day. Top tip: make sure to add a TINY dash to the tip of your nose, since it's highly unlikely your cheeks would catch some colour without your nose doing the same
SHOP: NARS- ORGASM BLUSH
Lustre Lips: I know everyone's on a matte lipstick kick at the minute (thanking you Miss Kylie J). However let's not forget that gloss is pretty fabulous too, while we're at it, find yourself some glitter gloss and throw it all the way back to when we were 8 and raided Claire's accessories every Saturday!

SHOP: KYLIE COSMETICS- KOKO KOLLECTION DAMN GINA GLOSS

Your Guide To Zante ... Beyond The Shots

Last Summer myself and 3 of my fabulous Queens went on our first girls holiday and after months of gruelling exams we were beyond ready for some sun and cocktails. Of course, Zante (Zakinthos) is known for its wild nightlife but beyond the cheap booze and glow in the dark crop tops the island itself is pretty amazing. So if you find yourself there on your next break, then here is my guide to making the bits you're sober enough to remember, memorable!

Must See Spots:
Cameo Island:
This spot is the perfect mixture of amazing atmosphere and gorgeous surroundings. The island itself is only accessible via a rickety old bridge. Once you cross, the island literally looks like some old rocks and nothing special really, however if you climb up the engraved stairs of the cliff (Indiana Jones style) you'll find the most amazing secret location at the top! You're welcomed by music, cocktails and straw umbrellas everywhere! Feel free to sunbathe, sip some Pina Coladas or go for a dip in the sea.  We were so pleased we found this spot and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip so for sure worth a visit!

(Notice the secret stairway?)
Shipwreck Cove:
If you ever see a banging Insta of Zante, wracking up thousands of likes then it's most likely to have been taken within the Shipwreck cove and it's not surprising! After taking a boat to get to the hidden beach me and the Queens were literally floored. I've been lucky enough to go to some pretty spectacular places, but NOTHING compared to the waters in this corner of Greece. The beach itself gets its name from the giant old boat washed up on shore making you feel like a sassy little pirate in a lace bikini. Since the cove is surrounded by cliffs it makes swimming in the sea feel like your own private paradise and was a moment I'll never forget.
Bucket List Moments:
As I've said before, bucket list moments are the things I feel you should do in certain destinations which stay in your memory forever and make you feel as though you've lived in your trip to the fullest, beyond the obvious Trip Advisor suggestions.

Go rock jumping:
When it comes to the beach I, personally, like to say I'm 'fearless', but others just call it reckless and probably somewhat stupid! However every time there was a lagoon or cliff side I'd immediately climb up and jump into the water, coz like why not?! Granted you should probably be a little more cautious than me of rocks under the place you intend to land but it's the most freedom you will ever feel, so if you get a chance just do it!
Go to a paint party:
Even if you're not huge on clubbing you should make sure you hit a strip of Laganas at least once while here just for the story. Granted most nights me and the girls spent our nights giggling on our balcony with several bottles of vodka in our pyjamas, even we couldn't pass up a chance to get pissed and covered with paint! It was such a laugh to go out out with no makeup and flip-flops to then have bucket loads of glow in the dark paint just thrown at you! I mean when could you ever get away with that at home?
Alex, Lucy, Me, Evita
Get a braid on the beach:
The popular beaches in Zante are filled with locals selling goods, some of these people offer braiding services (wrapping small sections of your hair in multi-coloured threads) of course I jumped at the opportunity as soon as I thought it would make me look like a mermaid. After I reminded the guy that the hair he was tugging was in fact attached to my head and he cooled off and it was the perfect opportunity to chat with a local, something you should always try and do. Plus as I suspected I did feel like a mermaid and subsequently whipped my locks about for the whole holiday.
Funny Stories From My Trip:
We spent our entire week in Zante laughing, there are so, so many funny stories I could share but here are a tiny handful of some of the giggles we had, (SORRY IN ADVANCE LUCE!)
Bitch down: Lucy Lu is one of my best friends, she's the most caring person you'll ever meet but this bitch is honestly the clumsiest human, probably ever. There was one day where she tripped on every ledge or step or stone we walked past, EVERY ONE. So by the time we got back to our hotel her toes had taken a beating. Our rooms were next to each other and due to the thin, cheap walls we could hear everything the other would say. Including Alex snap impatiently 'No Luce you CANNOT bring UNO to the club tonight!" So as I'm lying on my bed soaking up the Wifi after a long day, I hear Lucy bash her wounded solider of a little toe on the edge of the bed, a gruelling punishment at the best of times. I literally cried with laughter after hearing "AHHHH SWEEEETTT JESUS WHYYYYY!! WHYYYY??" No sympathy from us clearly!

Cracking time: As I said before most nights me and the girls would go out for dinner then end up chilling on our balconies having a giggle and getting a little giddy! This particular 2am we were watching Evita prove she could be one of the sexy girls who dance at the clubs to bring in customers when the hotel security came along with this crazy dog, shining a torch in on us and shouting for us to be quiet! Rude. Since the rooms were separate myself and Evita would have to walk back to our room at the end of the balcony turners. One night as we were bringing in the glasses and such and I had accidentally carried Lucy's beloved fresh pack of Tuc crackers back to our room. Which, probably due to our state, we found hilarious. We snuck back James Bond style giggling away.  Evita flung herself onto her bed to FaceTime her boyfriend, convinced he'd find the whole cracker debacle as hilarious as we did.. However she over flung and back rolled off this bed getting stuck between the walls. All the while we're trying to get her out we can hear Lucy Lu through the walls asking "has anyone seen my crackers?!"

Arse first: One slightly hungover morning me and the girls got onto a sweaty coach full of teenagers to a waterpark. Once we got there I immediately insisted, like the competitive psycho I am that we race down all the slides, to which after I lost, insisted we were NOT racing. Anyway there was one slide which you'd go down individually on a giant rubber ring. Alex, Evita and myself made it down no problems. But then... it was Lucy's turn. As I said before, this bitch just attracts accidents. We're all floating in the pool at the bottom of the slide waiting for her arrival when suddenly she flies round the corner BACKWARDS only to flip herself upside down  once she lands in the water. All we could see was this arse stuck in the air floating along in this rubber ring, trying desperately to escape. We all died, only to be made worse when her head finally emerged and she claimed, quite seriously, "Guys I know that didn't go perfectly but I think I handled it gracefully". DEAD!

Castaways: Most days me and the Queen's spent our days at the beach. They had these cool giant floats with seats for two people. So naturally me and Evita spent an hour soaking up the sun and floating in the sea, having a goss in this float. However when we decided to head back we realised we'd floated miles away and the current was getting strong! Now Evita can't swim and is known for being dramatic, she's panicking and shouting while I'm telling her to help me kick back to shore. After a solid 15 minutes of kicking and getting no where we suddenly remembered "I CAN SWIM!" So we're giggling at how stupid we were as I'm swimming back, holding this massive float with one arm while the Queen sits on her throne and decides, "I'm tired of kicking now, you look like you've got this under control!" Eventually we get back to the beach and practically crawl back to the girls. Alex and Lucy were in the middle of a pretty serious UNO game (clearly not concerned at all that we like almost died). They're sharing one sun lounger, facing each other to play. When Alex saw we were back she quickly stood up, which shouldn't have been a problem. If only Lucy hadn't been sitting on the head end of the lounger and was using Alex to keep the bed balanced. Obviously the lounger immediately tipped, causing Lucy to fly off backwards, with UNO cards falling everywhere. We're just a bunch of messes!

How To Make Banoffee Piefles

Banoffee pie is one of my favourite treats ever. It's so gooey and sweet, who couldn't love it?! But what if I told you there was a way to eat an entire portion to yourself, without risk of chewing too slowly and missing out? INTRODUCING- Banoffee Piefles, it's my literally GENIUS invention, combining the delicious flavours of Banoffee pie with the easy to do layout of a Trifle, (I told you, genius). Luckily you don't have to be a mini Mary Berry to perfect this dessert, in fact you don't have to do any baking what so ever! Which means these little pieces of heaven are not only super quick to make but even quicker to eat, hope you enjoy!

Step One:
Crush up a packet of Gingernut biscuits into small breadcrumbs, then combine with 1and a half tablespoons of melted butter. Transfer the biscuit mix into individual Trifle dishes and press down, you should have around 3cm of biscuit base in each.
Step Two:
Slice up 2 or 3 bananas, depending on the size and place these flat on top of the biscuit base in a circular pattern
Step Three:
I'm all about the lazy girl attitude to baking so if you wanna make your own toffee sauce then be my guest, but for now I'm sticking to the shop bought stuff. Drizzle PLENTY of this over the banana layer and then drizzle a little more, no one wants a toffee-less Banoffee, that's just Banof pie and who the hell knows what that is?!
Step Four:
Whip up some cream and smooth a large dollop over each dish. Grate some milk chocolate or sift chocolate powder on top of each Piefle and you're done. Grab a spoon, or your bare hands, I'm not here to judge, and enjoy!

Your Girlie Guide To Paris

Before me and one of my best friends, Lucy Lu headed off to Paris in November I did a lot of online research and found plenty about where to see the rich culture of France, but what I really wanted to know was, where the hell am I gonna get some banging Insta's? Where can I buy souvineers... well, makeup and how do I get my hands on the best grub? So here is my guide to taking Paris by 'le balls' and getting  all your girly needs out of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Tourist Spots Worth The Hype:
Notre dame:
Unfortunately we never actually made it inside this Cathedral, simply because we got side tracked by the various food carts surrounding it. However this is a perfect photo opportunity and is definitely worth the visit.
Louvre:
When me and Lucy Lu hopped out of the cab to see the Louvre, we were planning to get a few pics, look around for the sake of it and swiftly move on. However once we got in and began to explore the art and history we ended up having the best time. Granted this was due to inappropriate posing with ancient Greek statues nonetheless I'm glad we went and despite our immaturity we really did appreciate it all! Plus if you're looking for somewhere super prestige to grab some French grub hit up the terrace cafe inside the museum, a little pricey but definitely gives you a VIP vibe.
Champs Elysees:
This destination is literally just a famous road, which looks fab and all but what's the hype all about? WELL not only does it lead to the Arc Du Triomphe (a must) BUT parallel you'll find the most fabulous shopping destination, with everything from a Zara to a big ass Sephora, praise the heavens.
Eiffel Tower:
I mean ... duh.
Instagramable Spots:
It might as well be law that if you haven't posted a picture with the Eiffel Tower while in Paris then you just haven't been. However this is obviously the most popular Parisian tourist spot meaning finding the perfect Insta spot can be tricky. Fear not my fellow 'Gram'ers. There's a perfect spot in front of the tower (opposite side to the grass) If you walk around 200m straight you'll find a set of stairs leading to a platform, both the stairs and the platform give you the perfect view and is high enough to crop all tourists out and leave you with the perfect shot!
The Alexander Bridge is slightly less popular meaning the surrounding tourists are less of a problem! This spot gives you a distant view of the Eiffel Tower, a backdrop of water and the most beautiful lamp posts to pose by. If you time this right you may be lucky enough to catch the sunset which was the most magical moment of my trip. FYI you may get some funny (or perhaps concerned) looks dangling your legs off the side of a bridge but it'll be worth it in the end!
Bucket List Moments:
Sometimes when you're on a city break like Paris, especially a short one, it can become quite hectic and you're so focused on seeing and doing as much as possible, you forget to just breathe, take a minute to appreciate where you are. Sometimes you need to just do something which you won't find on Trip Advisor but is simply a moment you'll remember forever.

Sunset watching:
It had been a super busy couple of days so when me and Lucy got to the Alexander Bridge and saw the sun beginning to set, we bought some crepes from a street cart (literally AMAZING btw) sat on the edge of a wall with our feet dangling over the water and just enjoyed the views.
See the Eiffel Tower at night:
Just before we were heading to dinner, I insisted we detoured to see the Eiffel Tower glowing at the night. (Which Luce loved considering we were in heels!- "El remember you said you WEREN'T gonna run off?" Of course it looks impressive during the day but there was definitely something special about seeing it in the dark. Plus it's the perfect excuse to get some snaps while you're all glammed up!
Food:
On the go:
Paris is filled with food carts meaning you're literally rewarded for exercise with sugar (um finally!) If you find yourself strolling past some fresh crepes being prepared then DO NOT walk past, like seriously you'll live to regret it because these babies are to die for. Failing this grab some ice-cream or even waffles, the world is literally your menu.
Dinner:
Le Malakoff is a fab little restaurant a 2 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower which is perfect if you fancy grabbing some late night pics. The food (and drink) was super affordable but delicious, we pigged out on a 3 course meal, with classic french bread, a starter, steak, chips, ice cream and wine (not all at once thankfully) for less than 30 euros each.

Chartier is a definite must if you're looking for something different. This restaurant is very popular with the locals meaning you'll get a feel for the authentic French vibes. It was the coolest place! Hidden away in an alley way, the inside almost looks like an old fashioned train station, with tables all connecting and overhead rails for your bags. The waiters write your order down on the table covers and fly over with your grub in, I kid you not, 5 minutes!  Everything felt very high end and tasted amazing despite the low prices and speedy delivery!
