The 'Mean Reds' are a concept from one of my favourite movies- Breakfast At Tiffany's. The main character, Holly describes them as a feeling worse than the blues, which occur because 'it's been raining too long or you're getting fat'. They, instead are a feeling of being
scared and not knowing why. So if you ever feel particularly down or anxious, here are some ways of dealing with it without even leaving your room, coz let's face it, a life changing trip to Bali isn't always possible!

1.Let What Calms You, Consume You
We are a generation of multi-taskers , which is fab when you can keep up with the Kardashians, your homework and the group chat all at once, but it's a lot for our minds to cope with constantly. So if ever you're feeling overwhelmed, try listening to your favourite songs, like really just listening and nothing else. Or hide all the distractions and let an old classic movie take you away. I mean I dare you to not feel a little better after indulging in some Disney.
2. Put The Screens Away- MAKE STUFF!
My Mum used to always joke that if I watched too much t.v when I was little I'd end up with square eyes. Which in this day and age could quite well become an issue! Sometimes all you need to quiet the buzz is to be creative and enjoy a little personal project. FINALLY make that scrap book you've been intending to do or learn a new song if you play an instrument. You'll feel much more worthwhile if you put your mind to something
The amount of times I check Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook etc a day is actually a joke. Of course they're fabulous tools to stay in touch, get some fashion inspo or just be nosey but now and then it's healthy to just block out the outside world, at first you'll feel like you've lost a limb but after a day or so you'll begin to feel some relief!
My resting bitch face at its finest
4. Just Chat
For some people, talking about their feelings really helps them straighten their mind. But if you're stubborn and awkward like me EMOTIONS are topics you hate to discuss. Fear not! Simply having a quick FaceTime sesh with someone who you love will instantly make you feel better, there's no better cure than a giggle- and wine of course.
